FAQs
What is Colonic hydrotherapy?
The gentle infusion of warm purified water into the bowel via a disposable rectal tube over a 40-minute period. As the water enters the bowel it starts aiding in the breakdown and removal of bowel content or matter and toxins to be evacuated. The pressure, temperature, and flow of water can all be safely regulated throughout the procedure.
The LIBBE provides more comfort and privacy than any other traditional machine.
What will it do for me and what are the benefits?
Colonic hydrotherapy can offer relief from a variety of disturbances by cleansing the colon of impacted and putrefactive faecal matter. Fatigue, gas, headaches, irritability, skin problems, cold hands and feet, and lethargy (to name but a few) are among some of the problems people have found relief from by having their colons cleansed. Relief from constipation of course is another as well as diarrhoea. Although not a cure colonic hydrotherapy can be a key factor in the restoration of the body’s natural balance or what we call good health.
It can help to improve the immune system, bowel regularity, skin conditions, increase energy levels and mental clarity as well as kickstart your way to weightloss.
How big is the tube and how far do I insert it?
The tube has a little bulbed end and is the size of a pencil in diameter. It is inserted 1-1.5 inches into the anus.
What happens during a session?
When you are ready and have draped yourself she will then enter the room and give you the option of having her stay and operate the machine for you or instruct you on how to operate it and leave you in complete solitude. There will be intermittent visits to ensure everything is going well.
Is it embarrassing?
The bed is designed so there is no mess, no fuss, and no odor.. You are draped throughout the whole procedure so your dignity is completely maintained. You should never be exposed to the therapist at any point.
Does it hurt?
It is not uncommon for some cramping to occur during a colonic. Sometimes the muscle wall starts to contract and when gas and toxins are stirring, the feeling is like a cramp or gut ache. A gentle massage above the bowel area can bring some relief as does a heated wheat pack. Generally the process is mild and gentle that leaves you with a light and empty feeling throughout.
How many treatments do I need?
It is recommended a minimum of 2 and up to 5 depending on what you are trying to achieve. The sessions should be done a week apart or 2 weeks at the absolute maximum.
Does it wash away all the bacteria even the good?
If you have gut or bowel issues you will likely have minimal beneficial intestinal flora to start with.,l It is recommended to take probiotics if this is the case.
What if I want to stop the session?
You will be in complete control of the water intake. If at any time you wish to stop you just turn off the tap feeding the water or ring the bell for the therapist and she will turn it off straight away.
Will laxatives or enemas accomplish the same result?
An enema will clear the plug and some of the descending colon but will not get to the other 2 thirds of the bowel.
